Seine The river that divides Paris into two parts, passing through the major Paris attractions.
Centre Georges Pompidou It was renovated in Jan 2000 and harbours over 1500 works of mordern art. There are quite a number of cheap souvenir shops nearby.
Statue of Liberty The "grandmother" of the Statue of Liberty in New York! It's not marked in any maps. The friendly staff in the Tourist Information helped us locate it.
La Conciergerie A place of imprisonment, torture and death built during the 14th century. Now used for concerts occasionally.
Place de la Concorde At the 8 corners of the plaza are found statues representing 8 large French cities. The statue in the centre, the Obelisk of Luxor, measures 22.83 meters and weighs 230 tonnes.
Place de la Concorde Entrance to Champs Elysees at the west.
Diana Memorial Also called Liberty Flame, dedicated to Princess Diana. There are lots of flowers, and several pictures of the Princess.
Moulin Rouge  
Moulin Rouge The venue for a typical Parisian Cabaret with its famous French Cancan.
Hotel de Ville This is the Headquarters of the Paris Municipal, built at the site of the former city hall which was demolished by a fire in 1871.
Hotel Des Invalides Under the Doomed Church lies the body of Napoleaon I!
Ecole Militaire Just opposite the Eiffel Tower.
  A "statue" that we saw everywhere we went!
Opera Garnier A magnificent opera house built by Charles Garnier between 1862-1875.
Jardin Du Trocadero A garden facing the Eiffel with great fountains.
Jardin du Luxembourg A palace once used as a prison during the Revolution!
La Madeleine It was originally designed as the Temple of Glory by Napoleon for his Grande Armee.
Pantheon This is commissioned by Louise XV to the glory of the patron saint of Paris: St-Genevieve. Now it's a tomb for many great men of France.
RER The Reginal Express Network that provides fast access to the suburbs as well as a few stops in central Paris.

Colonne de Juillet The site of Place de Bastille which was used as a prison and stormed during the Frence Revolution.
